The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro immediately catches attention with a design that could easily be mistaken for a high-end flagship. It carries a modern, minimalistic look and introduces several highlights: refined aesthetics, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, and a massive 7550mAh battery.
This model simplifies and improves upon its predecessor by removing certain design elements found in the Turbo 4, resulting in a more streamlined and minimalist appearance. The soft matte glass back panel feels exceptionally smooth to the touch and does a great job resisting fingerprints. It’s completely flat, and the aluminum alloy frame subtly extends into the back panel, creating a comfortable and premium feel in hand.
The upgraded aluminum alloy frame finally brings the metal finish fans have long desired in the Turbo series. It delivers a more premium tactile experience, rivaling even the K series in overall hand feel. A notable design element retained from the white Turbo 4 variant is the illuminated camera ring lights, which serve as customizable notification indicators. You can adjust their color and brightness to your preference, adding a functional touch to the aesthetics.
At the front, the Turbo 4 Pro sports a flat display with a resolution of 1.5K and an impressive 3200-nit peak brightness at a 25% window. The bezels are very symmetrical, with the bottom one only slightly thicker—about 0.44mm—but it’s barely noticeable. With a 6.83-inch display size, it aligns with what’s considered a “Pro Max” class size, offering ample screen real estate for daily use and entertainment.
In terms of performance, this is the first device to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The previous generation, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, had a solid reputation, and the Gen 4 builds on that legacy. In stress tests, the phone maintained 60 fps during the first 15 minutes of performance testing, only dropping to 50 fps in later stages. It maintained an average power consumption of 6.3 watts. While not a drastic leap over Gen 3, it still meets expectations, delivering smooth, reliable performance for gaming and multitasking.
Thermal performance shows the phone heats up under heavy load, reaching a rear temperature of 49°C, which is uncomfortable for prolonged handheld use. However, features like “Wide Boost Mode” and gamer-focused software additions enhance the experience for mobile gaming enthusiasts.
Battery life is where the Turbo 4 Pro truly stands out. With a 7550mAh capacity—larger than what’s found in many current models—it leads the pack in endurance. Without intensive usage, it can easily last up to two days. It also supports 90W fast charging, capable of fully replenishing the battery in around 50 minutes. In addition, the device features 22.5W reverse charging, allowing users to charge other devices such as phones or wireless earbuds.
Redmi clearly placed confidence in this battery setup, and it’s likely that high-power reverse charging will become a standard offering across future smartphones.
One minor drawback is the positioning of the fingerprint sensor, which is located very low on the screen. While not the most ergonomic placement, it’s understandable given the budget-conscious nature of the device.
The camera system remains unchanged from the Turbo 4, offering reliable but unremarkable results. Still, for the price range, the photo quality remains competitive.
Running HyperOS 2, the device offers a smooth software experience with well-designed animations and efficient navigation. The combination of flat design, durable materials, flagship-level processing power, and an enormous battery positions the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro as a top contender in its class.
If you’re in the market for a sleek, powerful phone with long-lasting battery life, this one is worth considering.
