Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If you have an office job and travel a lot, you need a good laptop. You don’t want anything too fancy or expensive — just something strong, reliable, and easy to use. You need a laptop with a great keyboard for typing emails and reports, enough ports so you don’t carry extra adapters, and good performance for everyday work. Most importantly, you want a long battery life so you’re not always looking for a power plug.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s is a laptop that meets all these needs. We tested three versions — one with Qualcomm, one with AMD, and one with Intel — to help you choose the right one.
Design and Feel
The ThinkPad T14s has the classic ThinkPad look — a dark gray body that’s almost black, soft to the touch, light, and solid. It feels high-quality and is easy to carry. The Intel version is the older Gen 5, while the Qualcomm and AMD versions are the newer Gen 6, but they all look and feel almost the same.
Screen
The 14-inch screen is good for working on documents, emails, and browsing the internet. It has decent brightness, good contrast, and colors that look nice. But if you want a better display for watching Netflix or videos, Lenovo offers a matte OLED screen as an upgrade.
Ports and Upgrades
The ThinkPad T14s has many ports for its small size: two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an audio jack on the left, and two USB-A ports on the right.
For upgrades, the AMD and Intel models have a normal NVMe slot, but the Qualcomm model uses a smaller one. So, you get fewer upgrade options on the Qualcomm model.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard is excellent, with keys that feel comfortable and have 1.5mm of travel — great for long typing sessions. You also get the well-known red TrackPoint (the small red dot in the middle), physical buttons above the touchpad, and a plastic touchpad (not glass), which still works smoothly and feels nice.
Performance
We compared the performance of the three models:
-
CPU performance: The AMD and Qualcomm models are both fast, with Qualcomm slightly ahead. Both beat the Intel model, which is slower.
-
Graphics performance: AMD leads here too, followed by Qualcomm. Intel comes last. These laptops aren’t built for gaming, but if you want to play light games or watch videos, the AMD model is the best choice.
Battery Life
All three models have the same battery size (58Wh), but the Qualcomm model wins big here — it lasts over 22 hours, which is amazing. The AMD model has good battery life too, while the Intel model is just okay.
Which One Should You Buy?
-
For the longest battery life: Choose the Qualcomm Snapdragon model.
-
For the best performance and no software issues: Pick the AMD model.
-
Avoid: The Intel model, as it’s older, and Lenovo is already preparing newer models with Intel’s latest chips.
Final Words
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s is a fantastic laptop for people who travel and work a lot. It’s strong, light, has a great keyboard, and enough ports to handle all your needs. If you care most about battery life, go with Qualcomm. If you want the best speed and fewer software worries, choose AMD.
