The Samsung M56 is the latest offering from Samsung. It’s officially priced at ₹28,000 on Amazon, but thanks to offers, you can get it for around ₹25,000 if you pay using any bank card. But the big question is — should you buy it? After using this phone for a long time, here’s a detailed breakdown in simple words.

What’s in the Box?

You only get the phone and a cable in the box. Yes, you have to buy the cover, charger, and other accessories separately. So, effectively, this phone will cost you a little more than ₹25,000 after you add these essentials.

Build Quality

The build quality of the Samsung M56 is impressive. You get Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection on both the front and the back. Even after using it extensively, there are no major scratches on the display — only some minor ones that are hard to notice unless you look very closely. The back glass is also scratch-free.

However, the haptics are quite average. The vibration motor doesn’t feel very premium. Also, there’s no official IP rating here, which is a little disappointing considering that you can get IP68-rated phones at this price. Still, the SIM tray has a gasket that should offer some basic protection against splashes.

The design is simple but elegant — typical Samsung style. The phone is slim, lightweight at just 181 grams, and feels very comfortable in hand. The glass back adds a premium feel, making it one of the more stylish mid-range Samsung phones.

Display Quality

Colors are punchy, blacks are deep, and the display supports HDR. You can even play 4K HDR content on YouTube. Netflix HDR10 support with Widevine L1 certification is present too. The display feels smooth thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate and good touch response.

Outdoor visibility is decent with a 1200-nits peak brightness. It’s usable outside, though not the brightest in this segment. Flicker reduction has improved compared to previous Samsung phones, although minor flicker is still noticeable at very low brightness.

One disappointment: the in-display fingerprint scanner feels quite slow. Unlocking the phone isn’t as quick or satisfying as it should be.

Audio Experience

Unfortunately, the audio side is a letdown. You get only a single speaker and no headphone jack. Although Dolby Atmos is supported (only with earphones connected), the single speaker is just average. However, the phone struggles with gaming. In BGMI, you get only 60fps support, and there are visible frame drops. Stability is an issue.
